Shadow Of A Rose

I captured this image of a rose, along with "Silk Roses", "Enchanted Roses", "Radiant Rose", and "Purple Roses" on May 10th, 2021. I photographed this rose in monochromatic (black-and-white), inverted the tones, then applied split-toning in light cyanotype. I chose this tone and color scheme because of the distinct black tones on the rose, caused by the light from an off-camera flash being inverted (the black background was inverted to white as well). I wanted to use cyanotype split-toning because it gives the rest of the rose an ethereal look. I also like how the fine details of the petals are visible in the black area as well.

Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth paper and is unframed. Limited to 300 productions per size.

Available in 20" x 16", 30" x 24", 40" x 30", and 50" x 40" sizes.
