Silk Roses

I captured this image of two roses on May 10th, 2021. I used an off-camera flash unit placed underneath the roses to illuminate half of them while leaving the other half dark from shadows cast by the flash to add contrast to the image. I added blur to the image to soften the roses as it looks more pleasing in black and white. I wanted to cast shadows on the roses to contrast with the light of the flash. I inserted blurring into the image to create a softening effect of the roses for a more elegant, portrait-like appearance.

Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth paper and is unframed. Limited to 300 productions per size.

Available in 20" x 16", 30" x 24", 40" x 30", and 50" x 40" sizes.
