Table For Two

I captured this image of two red roses, along with "Layers Of Petals", "Metal Rose", "Pretty In Purple", and "Spirit Rose", on May 12th, 2021. When I photographed these rose, I used an on-camera flash to illuminate the roses. I also used a high shutter speed to darken the background and isolate the roses from the background as well. The background was not completely blacked out, however; I had to reduce the exposure of the background in post-production to fully black it out. I added sharpening to emphasize the edges of the petals and stems. I also wanted to capture the shadows cast by the flash with in the petals.

Printed on Hahnemühle German Etching paper and is unframed.
