Striking A Pose
I captured this image of a Blue Jay standing in my driveway on June 17th, 2017. I was watching my bird feeder and saw this Blue Jay standing near a puddle near the feeder. At first, it was standing at the puddle and drinking from it, then looked up at me (while I got my camera ready). Then, it either turned it's back to pose, or, it just didn't like the idea of getting it's photo taken. Either way, I thought it was a funny encounter. My favorite element about this image are the differing vibrant, vivid shades of blue in it's plumage. I also like how it's tail feather is lightly touching the puddle, creating tiny ripples that are reflecting the blue sky above.
