Beating The Heat

I captured this image of a Baltimore Oriole on June 17th, 2017. After a recent thunderstorm, this puddle formed in my driveway and many birds came to bathe in it over a period of a couple of weeks. This Baltimore Oriole was actually the first one I've ever seen. I was very happy to photograph this Oriole because I wanted to capture the contrasting, vibrant yellow-gold colors and dark colors of it's plumage. I was surprised to see how well-defined the details of it's feathers are, even though they are wet. I also like how the little droplets of water are sticking to it's dark-colored feathers.

Printed on Hahnemühle German Etching paper.

Available in 20" x 16" and 30" x 24" sizes.

Prices are:

20" x 16" - $600

30" x 24" - $1,000
